Objectives

* To assess the prerequisites for a timely detection and the appropriate control of new and emerging foodborne zoonoses

* To identify gaps in the capacity of detection and control of new and emerging foodborne zoonoses

* To establish recommendations in a priority list of activities for closing the gaps

* To foster the relationship and information exchange between microbiologists and epidemiologists in both human and veterinary medicine

* To develop proposal(s) to be submitted for the 6th framework
